Meet the Instructors
Nausher Madan has been a constant in the Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY area for 37 years. His knowledge of the game and innovative teaching methods along with his familiarity of the local tennis scene cannot be matched. Nausher played tennis throughout his native India to become their Junior National Champion. He attended the University of Maryland on a full tennis scholarship. During his professional career, Nausher was a member of the Indian Davis Cup team and gained international tennis experience playing throughout Europe and Asia. He is happy to share experience at Match Point Tennis Club to all tennis players from beginner to tournament level.
Arturo Richiez began teaching with Nausher Madan thirty years ago and they have been a team ever since. Everyone feeds off Arturo’s energetic approach to the game. He has developed many junior tennis players from beginner to tournament level and level-1 college in the Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY area. Arturo was the #1 ranked Junior Player in the Dominican Republic before attending the Universidad Central del Este. He played on the international tennis circuit for several years before coming to the United States. He became a certified USPTA tennis professional in . Arturo enjoys sharing his experience with all who take lessons from him and continues to push players to reach their full potential.
Darius Madan was one of the top juniors in India. He grew up playing with Leander Paes and Zeeshan Ali, and competed in many tournaments with them. Darius has been residing in the United States for the latter part of his life. He has been teaching in the Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY area for 32 years and coaches students of all ages and levels. He has worked with some of the top juniors in the United States. Darius has a passion for teaching and for developing beginners into tournament players. His patience and dedication combined with his teaching methods is unmatched.
John Caruso has been teaching for the past seventeen years in the Rockland County, NY and Bergen County, NJ area with Nausher Madan and Arturo Richiez. His passion for tennis has extended past teaching and into competing in many tournaments in the New Jersey area. He teaches players of all ages and levels. John has been a master racquet stringer for the past seventeen years and is a member of the USRSA (United States Racquet Stringers Association). He is always available to suggest string types and tension tailored to you so that your racquet is strung perfectly every time.
Marc Pindus is a graduate from the University of Virginia where he was a varsity letter winner on the tennis team. While in high school, Marc was one of the top ranked juniors in New Jersey and was the New Jersey state singles champion his junior year. Marc also played in several professional tournaments before retiring from competitive play.
Erin Murphy is a USPTA Certified Teaching Professional. She attended Amherst College and played tennis on the nationally-ranked Division III team and loved competing for NCAA berths in the NESCAC conference. After graduation, she was the Women’s Assistant Coach at Amherst College for one year, and then continued on a path to teaching by joining Teach for America. She taught ESL in the Bronx for four years and received her Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. After that, Erin worked with middle school students at KIPP, teaching writing to sixth graders and planning their end of year camping trips. She continued working for Teach for America for three years, as a program manager for 800 new teachers at a regional training site.
Ben Liaw has been teaching for over a decade in the Bergen County, NJ area sharing his enthusiasm with all on the court. “Boot Camp Ben” has instructed everyone from beginners to players ready for collegiate level play.
